Advice and support at meets is always completely free of charge but I also offer private consultations. Whether you are totally new to babywearing, need help with a sling you already have, or are looking to learn a different way of carrying your child, I can teach you safe and comfortable techniques and help you to achieve your babywearing goals.
A little bit about me...
My name is Amy and I am mummy to two little sling riding ladies, Leila (age 4) and Anya (age 2). I discovered slings when my eldest daughter was just a few weeks old and my passion for babywearing started immediately. I joined a UK sling forum to find out more and eventually started Birmingham Sling Meet when Leila was 11 months old so I could meet other "real life" babywearers. I enjoyed supporting others at the meets so much I decided to start up a sling library too so I could share the benefits of slings with more people.
Not long after Anya was born I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a babywearing consultant and chose to train with Trageschule UK due to their longstanding reputation (Trageschule originated in Germany and have spent years training consultants throughout Europe and even as far afield as the USA and Japan).
I have completed both the Foundation and Advanced courses with Trageschule UK and I am a full member of the British Association of Babywearing Instructors. I also hold professional indemnity and public liability insurances.
Services
Children love to be held and find comfort being close to our hearts. As a parent, being able to maintain that reassuring closeness with your child while you complete other tasks can be invaluable. Since the rise of the pushchair around 100 years ago, Western carrying traditions and skills that would have been passed on down the generations have been lost, but the instincts of ourselves and our children to be close to each other have not.
Consults can be prepared for any age of child, from newborn through to pre-schooler and all abilities can be catered for, whether you are totally new to slings or have been using them for a while.
